I’m tired of hearing people defend Trump by saying, “Wouldn’t it be a good thing if we had closer relations with Russia?”

Russia has engaged, and continues to engage, in cyber warfare against our country. Their actions have been confirmed by all 17 of our intel agencies. They have targeted our citizens and even our military with fake news. They have hacked into state voter databases. They have intervened to ensure Donald Trump was elected president. Every week we learn more of the extent of their meddling. And it’s not just us… our NATO partners have also been attacked.

The purpose of their actions is clear. They seek to divide and conquer the west. They seek to return Russia to it’s prior position of relevance on the world stage.

ISIS is not capable of destroying our country. North Korea is not capable of destroying our country. China is not capable of destroying our country. Russia, with help from those within our country who have lost the ability to place the welfare of our country above their own greed and power lust, is fully capable of ending our Republic as we know it.

So why would it be a good thing if we had closer relations with Russia? That would be acquiescence. We don’t acquiesce to those who attack us. We fight. We retaliate. We defend our nation. Any leader who suggests we do otherwise should be viewed with suspicion and assumed to be acting against the best interests of the United States of America.
